DEMO preset for fonts

Hey Emmanuel, so while I was thinking about my 3rd font, I thought about a peculiar thing: I can release demo fonts for people to try out the font, which will have limited chars and will be replaced into empty character or a logo.

Would Affont be able to create demo fonts quicker by setting up something like a category that can replace the ready made characters? Usually demos will obstruct the numbers, symbols, some even replace lowercase letters, and having such function can let me be able to distribute the font easier without having to copy and paste the same thing!

Hello JOL! Thank you so much for the idea.

It's already in: Affont 1.1.8 came out today with demo fonts. Affont updates itself when you open it. Then, in Export:

1. Check "Also export a demo version".

2. Click the gear next to it and choose what to cover: uppercase, lowercase, figures, punctuation and symbols, accented letters.

3. Choose what goes in their place: nothing (empty, keeping their width) or any glyph from your font. To use your logo, draw it in .notdef (or in a glyph the demo doesn't cover) and pick it there.

Every time you export, you get your full font plus a "Your Font Demo" copy, in the same formats and folder, ready to share. Ligatures and alternates of the covered characters are covered too, and your project doesn't change.
