Purchase and license
Affont is an app for Windows and macOS, sold with a one-time-payment license.
- Purchase. Payment is processed by Creem, which acts as merchant of record: it charges you, issues the invoice and handles taxes. Its terms also apply to the purchase.
- License. Your key is personal. You can use Affont on up to 3 computers at the same time and switch computers whenever you like by releasing one from the app or from your account. You may not share, resell or publish your key.
- Updates. The license includes all updates for version 1.x.
- Activation. The app checks the license with our server when you activate it and then once a day. Without a connection, it works for up to 14 days in a row.
- Misuse. We may deactivate keys that are published, shared, resold or obtained fraudulently.
The fonts you create
The fonts you design with Affont are 100% yours: you can use, sell, give away or license them however you like, in personal and commercial projects. Affont adds no watermarks or restrictions to the files. By default, the font’s description says “Made with Affont”; you can change or delete it in the font info. You are responsible for having the rights to what you draw (for example, if you start from someone else’s font or logo).
The community
With a free account you can take part in the Affont community after choosing a username.
- What you post. Your posts, images and fonts are still yours. By posting them, you let us show them publicly in the community, also translated into other languages when someone asks to read them in theirs.
- Respect. Don’t post anything unlawful, offensive or misleading, spam, or content you don’t have the rights to.
- Moderation. New threads may wait for approval. We may hide or remove posts that break these terms and block accounts that do so repeatedly.
Purchase reminders
If you start buying Affont and don’t complete the purchase, Creem may send one or more reminders to the email you entered in the checkout form, starting 24 hours later, with a link to pick up where you left off. They are only about that purchase and don’t commit you to anything. If you don’t want them, email us at support@affont.org. Our privacy policy explains what data is used.
Refunds
If Affont doesn’t work for you, email us at support@affont.org within 14 days of purchase. We’ll first try to fix the problem with you. If we can’t, we’ll refund your money: Creem processes the refund to the same payment method, and the key is deactivated. This doesn’t limit any rights your country’s law gives you.
Acceptable use
Don’t use the site, the community or the app for unlawful purposes or try to disrupt them, overload them or access their systems without permission.
Affinity
Affont is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Canva or Affinity. Affinity is a trademark of Canva. Using Affont requires a copy of Affinity 3.3 or later, subject to Affinity’s own terms.
No warranty
Affont and the site are provided “as is”, with no warranties beyond those required by law. We recommend saving your work and keeping a copy of your projects. An update to Affinity or your operating system could change how Affont behaves; if that happens, we’ll try to update it as soon as possible.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or loss of data or profits arising from the use of the site, the community or Affont. Our total liability does not exceed what you paid for the license. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Intellectual property
Affont’s code, the Affont name, its brand and the content of this site belong to us, unless stated otherwise. The license gives you the right to use Affont, not to copy, modify or redistribute it. What you post in the community belongs to you.
Changes
We may update Affont, the site and these terms. Material changes are reflected in the date above. Continuing to use the site or the app means you accept the current version.
Owner
Visual Club and Affont belong to their creator, Emmanuel Rehbani (Argentina).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic, unless a mandatory law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
